Day 15

We had a relatively short day today and stayed in the valleys.  We passed through the city of Perth and town of Blairgowie. Outside of Perth we visited the Palace of Scone where the Scottish kings used to be crowned. We didn’t get to go inside though as we didn’t have time. That’s the problem with a destination holiday I guess.

Today we biked a little further than what we would normally do as the hotel on our route was burnt down recently so the organisers have had to find accommodation elsewhere off route.  The only available hotels was 24 kms away so we left the bikes at a pub near to our route and we were bused to Pitlochry for the night. We’ll be bused back tomorrow morning to pick up our bikes and start our hardest leg yet – lots of climbing and long miles.  We are heading into the Scottish ski fields.  Unfortunately the weather forecast is cold and windy with a good chance of rain.  I’ll let you know how we go tomorrow.
